Privacy notice
Short version: the guide pages do not profile you, the quote form sends your details to brokers, and you can ask us to delete them.
What the site collects
Pages load fonts and images from this domain. We do not run third party advertising scripts or behavioural trackers on the guides. Server logs record requests in the ordinary way, including IP address, for security and abuse prevention.
The quote form
The form collects postcode, cover level, start date, email address and your consent. Those details are passed to insurance brokers so they can prepare quotes. They become responsible for that data at the point they receive it, and their own privacy notices apply to how they use it.
Legal basis
Consent, for passing your details to brokers, and legitimate interests, for keeping the site secure and understanding which pages are read.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or delete it
- Withdraw consent at any time, which stops future transfers
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office
Cookies
Two things are stored in your browser. The first records your light or dark theme choice, contains no identifier and is never shared. The second records whether you accepted or rejected analytics.
Google Analytics only loads after you press Accept. It sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies, which distinguish browsers rather than people, and collects the page you viewed, the referring site, approximate location derived from your IP, device type and interactions such as form submissions. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. We use it to see which guides are read and where visitors leave.
If you press Reject, no request reaches Google and no analytics cookie is written. To change your mind later, use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.
Retention
Quote requests are held for 12 months, then deleted. Correspondence about corrections is kept while the article is live.
